Season 2021/22

The Committee recently held a meeting to discuss the new Season, especially including the difficulties experienced due to Covid over the past 18 months.

It will be a different League this year with the main aim to provide the spirit of playing again, which hopefully you will agree is the most important thing.

As part of a cost cutting exercise, there will be no printed Handbooks issued this year.   All information, can be obtained via this website: Fixtures

Regarding Covid:   All recommendations should always be adhered to, and guidance is available to read on the TTE website.   Additionally, local Club venue information is provided for each venue listed:   See under ‘Clubs’

Please, respect local Club requirements when entering their premises.

Scorecards for League matches or Handicap Cup matches, are also available to download or print:   See under ‘Fixtures & Cards’

Please note, there will be no Knock-Out Cup or Closed Championships held this Season.

I hope everyone has a very enjoyable, although very ‘different’ Season.

We are in the 74th Season of our league.

WELCOME TO THE NEW SEASON

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT

I have pleasure in presenting the Chairman's report for the 2022/23 season.
Firstly it is very sad to report the death of Julie Hyde the divisional match Secretary for divisions1,2 and 3, she is a great miss not only to the league but to Woodmansterne as well, I cannot put into words how important Julie was to the league and the amount of work she did on all our behalf was terrific.

The committee had a difficult decision to make at the beginning of the season with the covid pandemic at its peak, but with careful planning the season was completed within the time scale.

Great thanks are due to your committee for the work they all do on your behalf to ensure The Sutton and District League continues. ln particular I thank Tony Stephens who took over Julies duties as league secretary and Alan Clatworthy who guides the committee through all sorts of problems. Frank Ho continues to keep the finances in good order and Michelle for being the auditor.

The new season will bring along new problems which will no doubt be solved.

I will not be standing as Chairman at the next AGM, also our hardworking secretary Alan Clatworthy also has indicated he also will not be seeking re-election and Tony Stephens just took on the fixture secretary position on a temporary basis. It is essential these positions are filled at the next AGM otherwise the league will not be able to continue.

I wish all teams an enjoyable season.
